The procedure with respect to the design registration begins as usual with an application to the patent office. Such application need to filed with prescribed form and format, and the prescribed fee also need to be paid while applying for the design patent. Also need to submit four copies of the design which you want to get patented. Once the application is filed and fee paid, the examination begins unlike the normal patent where we need to make a request to begin the examination by the controller, here it begins automatically once the application filed. And rest of the procedure as like as the procedure for the patent, where after the examination the controller will give the report over such examination and sometimes he may ask to change or to clarify certain aspects with respect to the design.
